Thanks for setting this group up Catharsis!
Here's a recent piece I did using Reason and my homespun tuning software:
www.nonoctave.com/tunes/Syn...nicity.mp3
This piece uses polytonality. The analog synth is tuned to 17 tone equal temperament (tET) and the granular synth is tuned to 11 tET. Sounds crazy, but you can do this sort of multiple-tunings thing and have it come out OK!

Re: example microtonal music: Synchronicity
Sat, September 13, 2003 - 11:03 PMRight on.. I think Tribe.net will be a great place for folks to find the wide world of microtones.
Checked out the track and a good chunk of your site. Keep it coming! I really want to start experimenting with polytonality. I tried with Xenos (I'll post some links to my microtonal tracks), but didn't stick to it long enough.
I haven't been writing much music recently.. Lots of software coding. We will have to team up on writing some unique microtonal related software in the future!
I'm glad to see 4 people in this tribe already!

Re: example microtonal music: Synchronicity
Fri, June 18, 2004 - 1:16 PMhey i was looking for this piece and can't find it. i know i'm late, but, i wanna hear polytonality!
i've done a bit of this kind of stuff before, but it was due to the tools i was working with ie. had a keyboard chopped into samples at 19tet, and then was using filters which only gave hz, so i had to simplify my math and use perfect ratios for the filters most of the time. (impatient)

Unsu...
out of sync
Mon, June 21, 2004 - 8:27 AMHi, sorry I had to take it down - I am always over quota on that site and have to clear stuff out to avoid excessive charges...
I don't have Synchronicity up anywhere else at the moment but I do have a few other pieces you might like at www.soundclick.com/bands/6/xjscott.htm -- try Requiem for Deliverence in the rationally intoned Emerald Forest tuning and Sykstatica Baleem in 444 tone equal temperament.
