Vocation of the Cracking Embers of Dawn Sight

topic posted Sun, February 6, 2005 - 1:06 AM by  Unsubscribed

A primitive polyphonic double reed instrument plays plaintively, contemplatively. It is tuned to the 10th root of fifth, which is a nonoctave tuning. Embellistments on a cymbal set accompanies the soloist.

It is a fire from the night before, the embers crackling as a new day arrives. The white whisps of smoke mix with the dampness of the early morning fog. The deep orange and black embers contrast with the orange of the sun below the horizon, rising, and the black of the sea beneath it.

Thanks Dan. People seem to be liking this one. I'll try to get more pieces done with similar moods.

I used it, less than 30 seconds as that's all that's legal without consent really, on a community radio station news show. People liked it.

It went after a story on the latest Iranian Earthquake. Than I faded in some orchestral reflective, yet major key, movie soundtracky music. It worked really well!

To all: If you want your music heard on an independant radio station, please let me know.

Ok, well you have my retroactive consent to use it as described anyway. What part of the world is your station in?

KPFK 90.7FM in Los Angeles, 98.7 FM in Santa Barbara

            kpfk.org

I'll probably use it sort of irregularly on the morning 5:30-6am bilingual English/Spanish news show.

That's a very appropriate time to play it and an appropriate location as well as I was thinking of many mystical early mornings spent with the remains of a fire at Torrey Pines State Beach as the fog envelopes everything.

Thanks much for using it, Dan. Feel free to use as much or as little as you need.
